(Still a work in progress...)

It's craft night, baby!!

Crafting Cube brings sharpies, stickers, gel pens, x-acto knives, and glue to a Magic cube. Players will be able to permanently alter cards as they are drafted.

This cube started out as a regular set of 8th Edition. Why 8th Edition you ask? It's a core set with a lot of weak cards that aren't very wordy!

The cube itself will evolve naturally over time. Favorite cards can be retired gracefully, hated cards can be physically destroyed, and new cards will be added in to replace them. Every draft will be a different experience!

How crafting works...

Full disclosure, this is still theorycraft. Drafting the Crafter's Cube is a lot like drafting Conspiracy. There is a new card type called "Craft." Crafts allow players to permanently change card text as they're drafted. It might grant a new ability, mana cost, or stat block. It might delete or add text. It might even "dust" a card, which physically destroys them and allows players to glue them back together!

Crafts are drafted face up. Whenever you draft a card, you can apply a craft to it by revealing that card. Crafts cannot be applied on the first three(-ish?) picks in a pack. The reason I want craft to happen during draft and not during deckbuilding is I want to avoid just having good cards become better, discourage building broken combos, and force bad cards to become more useful.
